FAQs

  • I understand that every client project is unique, so my pricing is customised based on the specific needs of each project. Factors include type of shoot, duration and number of final assets required. I’m happy to provide a tailored quote after discussing your project details. Any potential additional fees (such as expenses) will be discussed upfront, ensuring full transparency throughout the process.

  • Yes. Generally, unless agreed otherwise, I request an initial deposit of 50% of the final project fee. It will be invoiced on confirmation of booking and covers the cost of pre-production as well as a portion of the ingredients and supplies required.

In some cases where projects have tighter timeframes (i.e delivery within 2 weeks from booking) a deposit won’t be required, and I will invoice the full fee once the project has been delivered.

  • My Kitchen Drawer offer a variety of food photography and videography services; Full details can be found on my Services page.

    These services include:

    Recipe Photography

    Recipe Videography

    Brand Photography/Video

  • It’s important we discuss your project in detail to understand creative needs and marketing goals. I then use this information to develop a mood board suggesting props and backdrops to be used for your approval before I head into the studio to bring your vision to life.

Once the assets have been delivered and approved by the client I will invoice for payment within 30 days.

  • A mood board helps visually convey the look and feel that will be captured during the shoot. I will create one alongside a recipe (if I am developing one for the project) and send it over pre-shoot to make sure we’re aligned on the projects creative direction.

  • Yes, I own an ever-growing selection of props and backdrops to enhance your project assets and fit any seasonal theme. If you have specific ideas, feel free to share them and we can work together to create the perfect look!

  • I prefer using artificial light to ensure all images and video content have a consistent look and feel. Lighting can be adjusted so its brighter or darker to suit the requirements of the project, but generally I shoot light and bright.

  • Each project is different and delivery deadlines are agreed at the time of confirming the project.

  • All content is shot in my homebased studio in Austin, Texas. Occasionally, if I am personally required to appear in the content, I will move the studio equipment down to film in my kitchen.

  • I can’t wait to chat with you!

Typically, I will respond to any enquiries within 48 hours to gather information on next steps including how to schedule a call to discuss you project further. During the call we’ll chat more about your project brief, what usage rights are required and project timelines. I will then pull this information into a custom quote based on your project.

  • When a photo or video is captured, the person that took that image or video is the legal owner. Image licensing is when the owner of the image “rents” out the photo or video for commercial use for an agreed amount of time and under agreed conditions. Aspects to be taken into consideration in image licensing are place of use (print or digital), the reach of the image (how many people will see the image), ad use (will the image be used in paid advertising), and exclusivity (is the client the only person that can use this image?)

  • Copyright is about the ownership of creative work. A client can purchase copyright (or exclusivity of the image), from the photographer (the original owner of the image) and to obtain rights to sell the image. This increases project cost and is generally only necessary if the client would like to sell the image as their own. In most cases, image licensing more than covers what clients need but I am happy to discuss this further with you.

  • The image gallery will be shared in folders via a WeTransfer link. If you require the images/folders to be categorised or labelled in certain ways we can discuss this during our initial discovery call.
